HydroGrid Water Engineering

Water treatment in Durban and KwaZulu-Natal

HydroGrid is based in KwaZulu-Natal and works on residential, commercial and agricultural water projects across KwaZulu-Natal, with broader project coverage available across Southern Africa.

Local water problems still need site-specific testing

Two boreholes a few kilometres apart can have very different chemistry. Coastal conditions, geology, source depth, storage and plumbing all affect the final water problem, so HydroGrid does not prescribe treatment from location alone.

Residential water systems

For homes, common project needs include borehole assessment and treatment, backup tanks and pumps, pressure systems, filtration, UV disinfection and troubleshooting existing equipment.

Commercial and water-business projects

HydroGrid also works with refill stores, hospitality properties, factories, schools and other commercial users. These projects are sized around litres per day, peak flow and the quality required at the point of use.

KwaZulu-Natal-based support

Our KwaZulu-Natal base supports site assessments, collections, repairs and project work across the province, subject to scheduling and project requirements. For work farther afield, HydroGrid confirms travel and logistics before quoting.

Frequently asked questions

Practical answers to common questions we receive when planning this type of water project.

Does HydroGrid only work in Durban?

No. HydroGrid is KwaZulu-Natal-based and undertakes projects across KwaZulu-Natal, with broader project coverage available across Southern Africa subject to project logistics.

Can HydroGrid collect water samples in KZN?

Collection can be arranged for suitable locations and schedules. For remote clients, courier or laboratory delivery options may also be practical depending on the test.

Do coastal areas automatically need reverse osmosis?

No. Location alone is not enough to prescribe RO. Source-water testing is used to determine whether dissolved salts or other parameters justify membrane treatment.
